July news update: Performances in Toronto and NYC in the fall!

SO much fun stuff going on! I am headed into a busy fall, and currently working on a new solo that I am very excited about called:

Banished

It is an autobiographical piece about Dissociative Identity Disorder. I am finally telling some true stories, but in my usual wacky, metaphorical, multi-disciplinary way!

I am using object making, live projections (thanks to the brilliant Trevor Schwellnus, who I am thrilled to be working with again), small objects and vocal work (with my longtime collaborator Richard Feren’s sound score). Kate Digby is coming all the way from Kansas because there is no one like her, with the mix of her skills, who can help me craft and refine movement that embodies theatrically elements of DID and PTSD, such as catatonic behaviour, flashbacks and more… yikes AND I am very excited to say I have a new addition to our team: Karin Randoja, who will direct/dramaturg this monster of a solo.

There will be a 30 minute excerpt/workshop performance downtown Toronto this October!

Poetic License

I will be remounting this solo soon as well… !

And I will be performing an excerpt from Poetic License in New York City, November 1st in Artists in Motion 2025 at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theatre.

Gogo in Anthropos

I am also working with the delightful and funny Anastasia Phillips on her clown solo called Gogo in Anthropos… we hope to have a 25 minute version by October as well! Shows TBD…

Honeywood Schoolhouse artist retreat

The Schoolhouse Artist Retreat is moving forward (mostly being used by myself and my collaborators at the moment). I am working with Olga Schellenberg of Arts Hub through Arts Build Ontario to help me structure a system for artist retreats here.

Teaching

I am back at York’s Theatre Program September through December, looking forward to teaching 4th year Physical Theatre Creation, Graduate Solo Performance Creation and Clown and Mask!

I am trying not to teach over the summer but some people requested this one:
